How many points for SMC?
Minimum 6 points. Get points from qualifications (3-6 pts) OR income (3-6 pts) - whichever is higher. Plus up to 3 bonus points for NZ work experience.
Do I need a job offer?
Yes for most pathways. SMC, Green List, and AEWV all require a NZ job offer. Having one significantly speeds up processing.
How long is processing?
Green List: 4-8 weeks. SMC: 3-6 months. AEWV: 2-8 weeks. NZ is generally faster than Australia.
Can I include family?
Yes! Partner and children under 24 included. Partners get open work rights. Kids get free schooling.
